Pavia University system
Pavia is home to one of the oldest and most prestigious Italian universities and the IUSS University, founded by Collegio Borromeo. The University has 18 Departments and all levels of study; it offers 85 degree courses; 19 doctoral courses; 11 1st level and 23 2nd level master’s degrees; 48 graduate schools. A multidisciplinary university in teaching and research. The University has a system of 9 libraries that cover all disciplinary areas, in addition to the libraries of the Museums and Research Centrers, the Manuscripts Centre, the Maria Corti Foundation and the PAD (Pavia Digital Archives) structure dedicated to digital papers by contemporary authors. A dense network of Colleges has been created around the University since the 16th century, including 4 meritocratic, 3 private and 10 Edisu institutions; students can also benefit from the training opportunities of a health and scientific centre of excellence.
